About us
Founded in 2008, our collective is also a 'laboratory', which gives all its creators the opportunity to show and develop their creativity, helping each other and thinking together.
Faktor Terminál creates its performances mostly in the theatrical, artistic form that still only a few people choose today in Hungary. It is a meeting of professional creators with civilians, not only in theatrical space, in high artistic quality, responding to current societal problems.
One of our key objectives is to create community-co-arts projects that bring together professional artists and various local institutions, organisations, civilians and artists, and mix different artistic genres. Through this type of work, we aim to provide an opportunity for new ideas to emerge in the community and to reflect on the functioning of familiar, traditional ideas and values.
The collective works mostly with documentary theatre tools, be it the verbatim method or, in the preparatory phase, elements of documentary research methodology as a starting point. Members of our creative team create not only theatre performances but also sound plays, films, music, installations, and organising various courses and workshops, editing and publishing publications play an important role as well.
Our work also aims to promote social responsibility through art, support marginalised groups, community building and education. We seek new, creative responses to societal problems, and aim to promote and disseminate participatory approaches to art and, through them, to foster dialogue between different perspectives.
The members of the collective come from the fields of theatre, literature, music, visual arts, sociology, psychology and art education. The members work together to create their works, but each member also has the opportunity to create their own individual projects.
